Description
Armstrong International Series 814 Cast Iron Inverted Bucket Steam Trap
The Armstrong International Series 814 is a heavy-duty cast iron inverted bucket steam trap engineered for reliable, energy-efficient condensate removal in commercial and industrial steam systems. With a 1-1/4″ NPT connection and a maximum operating pressure of 15 PSI, this trap is well-suited for low-pressure steam heating applications including unit heaters, radiators, heat exchangers, and process equipment.
How It Works
The inverted bucket mechanism is one of the most proven and durable steam trap designs available. As condensate enters the trap body, the inverted bucket sinks and opens the discharge valve, allowing condensate and non-condensable gases to be expelled. When steam enters, the bucket becomes buoyant, rises, and closes the valve — preventing live steam loss. This intermittent, mechanically-driven operation provides dependable performance with minimal energy waste.
