The ICM855 is a compact, reliable hard-start device designed to provide up to 300% increased starting torque to single-phase induction motors (½–10 HP), especially recommended up to 1.5 HP for AC units, heat pumps, compressors, and fans. Using patented Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) technology, it senses back‑EMF to automatically disconnect at the optimum moment—avoiding abrupt capacitor dumps and protecting your motor windings .
