Description
The Johnson Controls V46DA-2 is a low-flow, commercial-type, direct-acting pressure-actuated water regulating valve engineered for use with non-corrosive refrigerants in commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. Constructed from durable cast brass, this valve delivers reliable, automatic regulation of condenser water flow in response to refrigerant head pressure, helping maintain system efficiency and protect compressor operation.
Key Features
- Direct-acting, pressure-actuated design for precise condenser water flow control
- 3/8″ NPT connection for straightforward installation into standard piping
- 70 to 260 PSI opening point range to accommodate a wide variety of system operating pressures
- Low-flow, commercial-type configuration ideal for smaller commercial refrigeration and HVAC applications
- Cast brass body construction for durability and corrosion resistance in non-corrosive refrigerant environments
- 30″ capillary tube for flexible sensing element placement
- 1/4″ flare nut connection on the pressure element for secure, leak-free refrigerant line hookup
- Style 45 pressure element for compatibility with standard V46 series applications
How It Works
The V46DA-2 senses refrigerant head pressure through its capillary and pressure element assembly. As system pressure rises, the valve opens to allow increased condenser water flow, cooling the refrigerant and reducing head pressure. When pressure drops, the valve modulates closed, conserving water and maintaining optimal system balance.
