Evaporator coil vs condenser coil
An evaporator coil is the indoor coil that absorbs heat from the airstream and supports cooling and dehumidification. A condenser coil is the outdoor coil that rejects that heat to ambient air, so while both are refrigerant coils, they do opposite jobs in the refrigeration cycle.
Coil vs solenoid valve coil
An evaporator coil is a refrigerant heat-exchanger coil used for cooling, while a solenoid coil is the electromagnetic coil mounted on a valve that opens, closes, or shifts the valve when energized, such as on refrigeration valves or heat pump reversing valves.
What are reversing valve coils?
Reversing valve coils are the solenoid coils used on heat pump reversing valves. When energized, they help shift the valve so the system can change refrigerant flow direction between heating and cooling modes.
